Thanks for everything: the stay, tour, hospitality, warm welcome, advice, suggestions and the lot. My only complaint is that I have to leave today!

Our stay with Nick, Alicia and their son Calixto was the highlight of our trip to Argentina.  They made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us.  We went on a five day tour with Nick. He was a great guide and very knowledgable.  We stopped at numerous viewpoints and interesting places on the way which made our trip very personal.  We can thoroughly recommend a stay with Nick and Alicia who really went out of their way to make us feel at home.

We spent three very impressive and exciting days with Nick on the "Altiplano". The days were well organised with not too much driving and  stops for the best views. Since Nick speaks fluent Spanish it was great to get to know some of the  people we met on our way. He brought us to the most interesting places to get local food and good wines: too bad, Nick, our driver, couldn't enjoy the great wine with us. If we had special wishes about things we were interested in, Nick would always find a way to make it possible.

We spent five days on the road with Nick in 2008 and had the most AMAZING time! It was one of THE highlights of our entire 4 month journey through South America. Words can't really describe how beautiful northern Argentina is and having Nick as our guide meant that we got to see incredible places that I am sure most visitors would otherwise miss. Even the gorgeous photos you see don't do the place justice. Nick is a great driver, very personable, knows all the great little villages and local places to stay and eat in, and the fact that he is a native English speaker (and has pretty close to perfect Spanish too!) makes it so easy and enjoyable to appreciate all the awesome once-in-a-lifetime experiences along the way. I can't recommend the trip highly enough. You'd be crazy to try to do it yourself because you would just miss out on so much magic.

Thanks you for making us feel so welcome. What a treat to stay in your home in such comfort. The trips we made to San Antonio and to Cafayate were amazing and wouldn't have been so special without your knowledge and insight, Nick. Alicia, thank you for all your hospitality and local travel tips.

From our very first phone call to Nick who suggested we try the red wine ice-cream while in Cafayate we knew we had a guide who wouldn't steer us wrong! As two University friends backpacking through South America we experienced the most relaxing and knowledgeable tour of our trip with Nick and Poncho Tours. A few highlights of our tour: stopping at a roadside home that sold handmade cactus-wood crafts and homemade fig jam and wine, pulling up to a local/gaucho celebration where Nick translated between the locals and us and driving on beautiful winding, mountain roads reaching a breathtaking 3,840 metres. The knowledge of our hosts combined with the complete tailoring of trips to meet your interests and desires make Poncho Tours a must.

Poncho Huasi is a great place to stay. If you go there - it's a must to spend some days on a guided tour with Nick the owner - an Englishman who (of course) also speaks Spanish. He runs the place together with his Argentine wife. We had a great time exploring the area around Salta. Both the mountains (up to 4200 meter), the big salt lake Salinas Grandes and the pathway of the Incas to the North. Just go.

Travelling alone can be daunting, but Poncho Huasi was the perfect base for a lone female traveller (who doesn't speak Spanish). The personal service from Nick and Alicia meant I was able to see far more of the country than I would have on my own (Salta is a great base for touring) and they were also able to fix up extras like a horse-ride followed by a traditional barbecue - and four days touring the high salt flats of Bolivia! I got so much more out of my visit to Argentina from Nick and Alicia's local knowledge and a programme tailored to me specifically. And at such reasonable prices too! Can't wait to go again.

We came across Poncho Huasi in a newspaper article in UK. Our first email was quickly answered and straight away we felt welcomed and wanted to stay. We had some great email exchanges with Nick, which were very useful in planning our visit - our first to Argentina. In addition to the house, they do guided tours, and we chose two. Nick met us at the airport and straight away we felt relaxed, knowing we were in good hands. The following morning we were off on a two day trip with Nick, including an overnight stop. The scenery was spectacular. He is a great guide happy both to lead and to explore with his party. We had some great experiences with food we wouldn't have dared try on our own. Alicia and Nick, and their son made us very welcome and we hope to return.
