In April of this year, Nick published his final blog as the owner of Poncho Tours. After many years travelling the roads of Northwest Argentina and accompanying people from all over the world, the time came for him to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
For me, it is a privilege to carry the company forward.
My name is Rodrigo Bisbal, and I have worked as a guide for Poncho Tours for more than twelve years. However, my connection with tourism and the landscapes of Northwest Argentina began much earlier. I was born and raised in Salta, and for more than two decades I have been exploring this region that I proudly call home.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of sharing countless adventures with Nick and learning first-hand the philosophy that made Poncho Tours so special: creating authentic, personal and carefully designed experiences for every guest.
That philosophy will not change.
We will continue offering private, tailor-made journeys for people who want to discover Northwest Argentina in a deeper and more personal way. We believe that no two journeys are the same, because every guest has different interests, expectations and ways of experiencing a destination.
Many people think that travelling is simply about moving from one place to another. For us, it has always meant much more. It is about understanding the landscapes, learning the stories behind each village, discovering local cultures and exploring places that are often overlooked in traditional guidebooks.
A guide does much more than take you from one destination to the next. A guide knows the stories behind the landscapes, understands the culture of local communities, knows the best times of day to visit certain places, the hidden corners that many visitors never see, and often the small details that can transform a pleasant trip into a truly unforgettable experience.
The Calchaquí Valleys, the Quebrada de Humahuaca, the Puna, the mountains and the small Andean villages still amaze me after all these years. One of the greatest rewards of this work continues to be seeing the reaction of people who are discovering these places for the very first time.
My commitment is simple: to preserve the spirit of Poncho Tours and continue creating memorable experiences for our guests.
To Nick and Alicia, thank you for your years of hard work, friendship and trust.
And to those considering a journey through Northwest Argentina, I would like to welcome you to this new chapter in the story of Poncho Tours.
